What Happens If It Rains on Your Wedding Day at Apollo Fields?
One of the first questions couples ask when planning an outdoor wedding is:
"What happens if it rains?"
It's a fair question—and one we've answered hundreds of times.
At Apollo Fields, every wedding includes a thoughtful rain plan, so if Mother Nature decides to change the forecast, your day doesn't lose its magic. Whether you're planning a spring garden ceremony, a summer celebration, or a fall wedding in New Jersey, we'll help you navigate the weather with confidence.
Every Wedding at Apollo Fields Includes a Rain Plan
We believe a backup plan should feel just as intentional as the original vision.
Rather than scrambling at the last minute, we'll stay in touch with you leading up to your wedding and watch the forecast together. Weather can change quickly, so we don't make decisions weeks in advance. Instead, we'll make the call when it makes the most sense for your day, balancing the forecast, your timeline, and your comfort.
Our goal is simple: make the transition feel seamless so you can focus on celebrating—not checking the weather app.
Our Indoor Ceremony Space Was Designed to Feel Special
Unlike many outdoor wedding venues where the rain plan means moving into a plain banquet room, Apollo Fields was designed with flexibility in mind.
If rain moves your ceremony indoors, you'll exchange vows in our light-filled Great Room, surrounded by warm textures, large windows, and views of the property. It still feels connected to the gardens and landscape that make Apollo Fields so unique.
Many couples tell us they were surprised by how beautiful the indoor ceremony felt—and how naturally it became part of their wedding story.
Rain Makes for Beautiful Wedding Photos
As photographers with more than a decade of experience and over 350 weddings behind us, we've learned something that often surprises couples:
Some of our favorite wedding photographs have happened on rainy days.
Cloud cover creates soft, flattering light. The gardens become more vibrant. The trees deepen in color, and everything feels calm, romantic, and intimate.
If the rain lets up for even a few minutes, we'll head outside for portraits. If it doesn't, we'll create beautiful images indoors using the natural light throughout the property.
Great photographs aren't about perfect weather—they're about genuine moments.
We'll Help You Adjust the Timeline
Sometimes a rain plan simply means changing the order of events.
We may suggest taking family portraits before the ceremony, moving cocktail hour inside for a bit, or waiting for a break in the weather before heading outdoors.
Because every Apollo Fields wedding is intentionally intimate, we're able to stay flexible and make thoughtful adjustments without the stress that often comes with larger events.
Your Guests Will Remember the Celebration—Not the Forecast
After photographing hundreds of weddings, we've noticed something interesting:
Almost no one talks about the weather afterward.
They remember the ceremony. The incredible meal. The conversations around the table. The speeches that made everyone laugh and cry. The feeling of spending an unforgettable evening with the people they love most.
Rain rarely changes those memories.
